Hardcore Hold Out
Did you just walk through a time warp? Did that waitress just call you ‘Sweetie?’ Are those lumberjack axes and saws on the walls? Welcome to the Shanty, a shack of a diner along Elliot Bay that has managed to defy the ravages of big development and cookie-cutter menus for almost a century. Regulars act like they’re in their mom’s kitchen here, and that warm spirit is reflected in a down-home reasonably priced menu.
Sadly this timeless Seattle landmark has disappeared.
