The Northstar Cafe has a long and colorful history in the Northbeach neighborhood of San Francisco. Since 1882, the ‘Star has been serving generations of residents, tourists and riff-raff. Once a speakeasy during Prohibition, the Northstar has had many different faces. A local restaurant run by the Lagomarsino Brothers, serving union bosses, politicos, newspaper staff, cops and firemen. Later the Tomei Brothers ran it as a neighborhood saloon where anything could happen… and usually did.
