Locals and tourists alike consider Lu Lu’s da kine Kona nightlife spot. Across the street from Kailua Bay, this open-air restaurant and dance club draws a casual crowd in the mood for some pupus (a.k.a. munchies) and a stiff drink. By day revelers gather to watch the game on one of their many TVs or enjoy the view and a burger. By night people come to get their groove on with one of the Big Island’s best DJs. You can’t leave without donating to the dollar-bill decoration fund. Pull out a buck, write whatever you want on it and then hand it over to be stapled to the wall, dedicating that little spot of paradise just to you.
